Multifunctional filter elements

Nanofiltration metal-composite membranes (NCM) and multifunctional filter elements (FE) based on the above intended for operation in extreme environments.

VNIINM, JSC has a pilot scale technology for the production of FE which uses a unique nanofiltration metal-composite membrane (NCM), and allows for ultra-fine filtration with a holding capacity starting from 50 microns and down to 10 nm or less. Currently no manufacturer produces all-metal FE with pores of less than 1 microns.

Filter elements (FE) made of porous corrosion-resistant metals and alloys were developed by specialists of VNIINM, JSC specifically for use in environments characterized by high temperature and pressure, shocks, vibration, radiation and bacterial activity.

Having a unique set of advanced performance characteristics, the metal-composite FEs are fundamentally superior to traditional filter elements based on ceramics or polymers. Apart from the above, FEs based on HCM have simultaneously high strength, viscosity and ductility, electrical and thermal conductivity, and do not form micro-fragments that can contaminate the environment being cleaned. An important advantage of metal filters is their absolute fire safety, which is a prerequisite for treatment devices used at radiation, chemical and bacteriological hazard facilities, since this feature eliminates the risk of toxic emissions associated with the "hot" destruction of the polymer filter during melting, or the ceramic filter during brittle cracking.

The competitiveness and a number of advantages of the filters developed by VNIINM, JSC as compared to foreign analogues have been confirmed by numerous commercial tests and operation at existing production facilities of medical, biological, electronic, nuclear, aerospace, chemical, oil and gas and other industries.
