Nanostructured wires with high strength and electrical conductivity

A new class of nanostructured electrical wires featuring exceptionally high strength and electrical conductivity was developed at VNIINM specifically for use in devices where high and extremely high mechanical stresses are achieved:

Super-reliable wires and cables for aviation and space technology;

Extra-strong micro-wires for electronics, electric motors and resonant power lines;

Foils for flexible wires and printed circuit boards;

High-field kicker magnets with the induction of 70-100 T;

Inductors for magnetic kick stamping;

Composite contact conductors for high-speed rail transport;

New generation high-strength wires for power lines.

The technology makes it possible to produce wires that have the tensile strength of 1,200 to 1,500 Mpa, which is equal to that of steel, and at the same time a high electrical conductivity of 60-75%, that is, electrical conductivity of high-purity copper.
