RADIOACTIVE WASTE HANDLING, MONITORING AND CONTROL PROCESS DEPARTMENT

Brief information about the services provided:

- Collection, sorting, processing and containerization of solid and liquid RW both generated by current operations, and RW resulting decommissioning of nuclear power plants and consigned by third-party suppliers;

- The Department functions as the central RW accounting and control service of the Institute: it carries out characterization, classification, data sheet production, reporting to the State Radioactive Materials and Radioactive Waste Monitoring and Reporting System, control of RW stock, development and updating of regulatory and methodological documents related to the RW management, accounting and control system;

- development of technologies and equipment for processing solid and liquid radioactive waste, their implementation and introduction;

- support of communications with representatives of scientific organizations and organizations of The State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM on issues related to RW management;

- testing of hydroseparation soil cleaning processes on customer samples;

- development of soil cleaning technology involving the preparation of initial technical requirements for the design of installations with different capacities;

- implementation of pilot tests of the hydroseparation soil cleaning technology on the customer soil samples.
